This summer, the varsity football team traded their shoulder pads for work gloves, spending four days in Eastern North Carolina serving homeowners in need. The preseason mission trip became just as much a blessing to the team as to the community.

For many students and families at North Raleigh Christian Academy, the annual Spiritual Emphasis Week (SEW) is much more than a daily task—it is a spiritual oasis and a chance to reset and reconnect. This year, students participated in daily services led by Nick and Chelsea Hurst, a married couple from Anderson, South Carolina. 

When junior soccer player Nathan Surface stepped off the plane in Medellín, Colombia, the first thing he noticed was how different life looked compared to home.  

We all have that one friend who is especially capable of speaking truth into our lives. Due to God’s sovereignty, He makes us to cross paths with certain people with whom we have a close bond.

Friendship is a beautiful concept. From the beginning of creation, God knew that human beings would need to live in relationship and community. In the opening chapters of the Bible, God searches for a suitable helper for Adam from among the animals of creation.

Mr. Tim Gardner (Construction Technology program coordinator) and Mrs. Julie Gardner (kindergarten teacher) traveled to England this summer on a mission trip with Providence Baptist Church. While there, they worked with International Mission Board missionaries to encourage and support them.  

At the beginning of the school year, NRCA’s athletic department launched a new discipleship program to build faith and unity across the Knights’ sports teams. 

Among the many students and staff North Raleigh Christian Academy welcomed for the first time this year was Christian Life Director Ms. Lilly Wooten. As a new addition to the discipleship team, Wooten will be working alongside Mr. Josh Leonard, Dean of Spiritual Formation and Discipleship, to connect with students, share the gospel, and encourage spiritual formation in the NRCA community. 

We’re excited for you to meet our new teachers and staff for the 2025–26 school year. When you see them on campus, be sure to give them a warm NRCA welcome! 

NRCA’s Lily Kate Wilkinson signed on May 12, 2025, to cheer at UNC Wilmington.

On May 12, 2025, NRCA senior David Mertz signed to play baseball at Guilford Technical Community College.

On May 13, 2025, senior volleyball player Tyra Listenbee committed to continuing her athletic career at Lander University next year.

Kindergarten STEM Day took place on April 3. Students spent the day rotating throughout classrooms, learning about weather, and participating in various STEM activities related to their science unit. 

As Ellen Robinson’s zero-hour Honors Competitive Speech & Debate class approached the end of the year, Robinson wanted the students to have one last assignment to conclude the course by thinking deeply and speaking purposefully about areas of personal interest.

Senior standout Cody Dickerson signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Pfeiffer University on April 30, 2025, surrounded by his family and teammates.
