NRCA’s Marching Knights participated in the 81st Raleigh Christmas Parade over Thanksgiving break. The parade, held in downtown Raleigh, was full of Christmas spirit, holiday treats, and families who came to enjoy the floats, performers, and bands. The Marching Knights performed along the parade route, spreading cheer to the families and friends who watched in person and at home.
Senior band member Ella Peters said, “We performed on Saturday, the 22nd, and we performed all morning.” The performance included a medley of songs, featuring “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing” and other Christmas classics.
A highlight of the parade was seeing so many children excited to celebrate the holidays earlier in the season. Peters said she was “most excited to see the little kids waving, smiling, and having fun.”
The marching band’s performance was led by NRCA’s Field Commander, Nathan Yount.
One of the earliest holiday celebrations in the area, the Raleigh Christmas Parade serves as the annual kickoff to the local Christmas shopping season.
