Welcome to the Director's Cut

As North Raleigh Christian Academy embarks on the 2025-26 school year, Squire Theatre presents “A Season of Friendship.” The fall musical, A Year with Frog and Toad, tells the tale of two best friends as they live through the seasons of a year together. The Bible also has much to say about the necessity of friendship and how God created humankind to live in relationship and community. The devotional series that accompanies A Year with Frog and Toad will explore several significant friendships that we see in the Bible, drawing upon both the Old and New Testaments. Join Squire Theatre as we explore the meaning and purpose of friendship in the world God created.

Theatrical Theology: Thoughts on Theatre at NRCA

Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynn Nottage gives voice to the meaning of theatre: “...theatre should be a place of transformation, a place where we can collectively explore society’s wounds, unearth difficult truths, and wrestle with untidy human emotions.” As Squire Theatre prepares for each production, we desire to share how you, our audience, can interact with the truths of Scripture while enjoying excellent theatre. Theatrical Theology will give devotional thought to the themes and characters of each Squire Theatre production. NRCA’s Squire Theatre hopes to help families transform, explore, unearth, and wrestle with truth in light of Christ’s work and God’s Word.

Student Artist Spotlight

Have you ever wondered how our student artists bring works of art into being? Once a month, we will bring you an interview with one of NRCA’s outstanding student artists. We will ask them about their creative process, seek to understand why they create, and learn how they relate their creativity to their faith. Join us for an inside look at the creative minds of NRCA’s student artists.

Cultural Commentary: Caring about Culture Christianly

As parents, we are constantly bombarded with cultural influences that don’t align with a Christian worldview. How can we understand whether a song, movie, or other cultural artifact is worthwhile and meaningful? Cultural Commentary seeks to help parents, families, and students navigate and interact with culture that doesn’t share a Christian understanding of how the world works. We can care for our culture in ways that reflect Christ and honor the values and standards of the Christian faith.
