From mid-January to mid-February, NRCA high school students have a sweet opportunity to raise funds for select student activities during the World’s Finest Chocolate sale.
Asia Robinson, one of NRCA’s seniors, has participated in the World’s Finest Chocolate bar fundraiser. She was creative in the way she approached selling the chocolate bars. “First, I put up [information that included] Cash Apps and Venmos in my neighborhood, and I posted it on my neighborhood website,” she said. “Then I also went around school after school, asking people if they wanted to get a chocolate bar, and I also had QR codes from Cash App and Venmo on my chocolate bar boxes.”
Robinson enjoyed the in-person aspect of direct sales and plans to use her sales proceeds toward the Senior Trip to Italy.
NRCA’s 2026 World’s Finest Chocolate sale runs through Feb. 10. High school students can pick up boxes every Tuesday from 3-3:30 in the hallway near the Armory, where they can sign out boxes to sell. Chocolate bars are $2 each, and there are 40 bars in each box. At the end of the sale, students turn in the money from their sales and return unsold candy bars.
During the school year, NRCA’s high school students have several opportunities to raise money for events and trips that require significant payments beyond the usual tuition and fees.
These fundraising events include selling GoPlaySave local coupon books and Charleston Wrap wrapping paper, in addition to World’s Finest Chocolate bars. Students can use the funds that they raise to help pay for more expensive student activities that exceed $500, such as the NRCA Senior Trip, NRCA mission trips, fine arts trips, and athletic trips.
Currently, the parent who oversees student fundraisers is Heather Burckart. On average, about 6% of eligible students participate every year, with World’s Finest Chocolate bars having the most engagement.
