When Math Becomes Art: Students Discover God’s Patterns in Precalculus Projects
Juniors in Mrs. Melanie Waite’s precalculus class combined math with art to create sculptures and 3D models that displayed precalculus concepts in a tangible and personal way. Students used the unit circle to map out their structures. The project provided an avenue for students to see how creativity meshes seamlessly with calculations in their own creations, as well as God’s creation.
