First is the word of the year for NRCA seniors Eddie Kubiak and Tully Martinez. The duo was part of the first-ever countywide student chapter of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), the first countywide student chapter to win the NAHB Student Competition, and the first student team ever to win the competition in their first year.  

On Sunday, March 1, NRCA seniors departed for the snowy elevations of Snowshoe Mountain Resort in West Virginia. The group of around 20 seniors gathered their coats and boots to hit the slopes.  

As Valentine’s season approached, the senior class worked diligently to prepare Valograms for the North Raleigh Christian Academy community. This annual event, which also serves as a fundraiser for the class, is a way for the seniors to make everyone feel special by hand-delivering Valentine’s notes along with candy, flowers, or a song.

Juniors in Mrs. Melanie Waite’s precalculus class combined math with art to create sculptures and 3D models that displayed precalculus concepts in a tangible and personal way. Students used the unit circle to map out their structures. The project provided an avenue for students to see how creativity meshes seamlessly with calculations in their own creations, as well as God’s creation.

Members of NRCA’s high school Student Leadership Academy (SLA) recently traveled to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, for a weekend retreat hosted by Crossroads Winter Conference, a Clayton King Ministries event.

Love is a key ingredient to a good musical. So many musicals deal with the ups and downs of love in many ways. Frozen is no exception; however, while many musicals deal with romantic love, Frozen deals with the type of love less considered in the Broadway canon.

From mid-January to mid-February, NRCA high school students have a sweet opportunity to raise funds for select student activities during the World’s Finest Chocolate sale.

The varsity boys and girls swimming teams began the winter season strong with the addition of a preseason training program that prepared athletes physically and mentally.

When students attended the NRCA Book Fair from Oct. 27-31, they stepped into an adventure where a multitude of stories awaited.  

This fall, five NRCA athletes signed to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level.
