The Team Behind Every Lunch

When students walk into the cafeteria, they may not realize a whole team of staff is working behind the scenes to make sure they have everything they need. Mrs. Mary Brown, Mrs. Stephanie Woolard, and Mrs. Allison Price help provide lunch for NRCA students and faculty.

“All three of us really enjoy our job. We are a great team together,” Brown said.

Brown and her staff enjoy seeing NRCA students coming in and out of the cafeteria. “Because we serve all students K-12, each lunch period is different,” she said. “We enjoy seeing all the students each day. At the beginning of the school year, we help the new third graders navigate the lunch line. The 11th and 12th graders stopping in sometimes for a snack or lunch is fun as well.” 

The team works hard to meet the expectations of students and staff. “Offering students and staff variety in their choices is a challenge. We try to have items that allow students and staff to be creative in their lunches and ensure everyone gets something to eat,” Brown said.

What the NRCA community does not see is how much this team does for students and faculty. Brown explained, “It is common for a cafeteria substitute to be shocked when they see the amount of behind-the-scenes work done to provide lunch to everyone.” 

As you buy your food from the lunch line or are eating lunch in the cafeteria, make sure to show your appreciation to the team that works hard every day to provide for the NRCA community.
