Dial in the Hallways

At North Raleigh Christian Academy, staff and teachers work hard to get to know the students. High School Principal Mr. Bruce Dial is a great example of this. Beginning in the new school year, Dial has been spending time in the hallways, interacting with students as much as possible.

For Dial, spending more time with students is the very reason he began working in education. “I got into education to interact with students, so it just gives me an opportunity to get out and do that,” he said.

Dial loves getting to know students, and maintaining a presence in the hallways helps. “I get the opportunity, every once in a while, to pull [a student] aside and ask them how it’s going, what’s your favorite class, that kind of thing, and just have that face time with them,” said Dial.

When he travels from the administrative offices to the high school hallways, Dial is hardly ever seen without his popular “travelling office”—a sturdy rolling cart he borrows from NRCA’s Admissions Director, Mrs. Susan Dial, his wife.

Visiting hallways to get to know students is just one of the ways NRCA administrators are working to grow their relationships with students, creating a welcoming environment for strong bonds to grow.
