The groundwork being laid in the truths of God’s Word equips students to recognize that humanity is fallen, and the world is broken because of sin but can be restored through the hope in Jesus Christ.
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” -Romans 15:13
I recently read an article written by a Christian school headmaster entitled “Hope.” It discussed the importance of Kingdom Education in light of the cultural shifts we see in our society. This is an increasingly important discussion for Christian school educators as we seek to reflect the genuine hope we have in Jesus Christ.
Much of the distinctiveness of a Kingdom Education is expressed with hope. In a world that struggles to make sense of injustice, conflict, and pain, Christian schools stand and represent hope for the future of our students. Jeremiah 29:11 states, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” This hope is grounded in the steadfast love of our Heavenly Father and the truths proclaimed in His Word.
God works to develop a biblical worldview in students through Kingdom Education. The groundwork being laid in the truths of God’s Word equips students to recognize that humanity is fallen, and the world is broken because of sin but can be restored through the hope in Jesus Christ. In Titus 2:7 Paul states, “So that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” This reality provides Christian schools the opportunity to share the hope of God’s plan of redemption and His desire to bring us back into a personal relationship with our Heavenly Father.
Hope is a combination of faith, trust, and confidence. Jesus Christ teaches us to have faith in Him, trusting that He is the only answer to the fallen people and broken world around us, including all the hate, injustice, conflict, and pain we see daily. Kingdom Education through Christian schools establishes a firm foundation upon which faith and trust can build, giving confidence that God will fulfill His promises revealed throughout history. This provides students with genuine hope to impact their society for Christ through the power of the cross.
The hope that is taught through Kingdom Education looks outward with an eternal perspective, focusing on Jesus Christ. NRCA desires to partner with families in providing a Kingdom Education that develops the whole child through a biblical worldview, providing hope that comes from the promises rooted in God’s Word through the work of Jesus Christ.
