Soccer
NRCA’s summer soccer camp is designed to teach and develop a young individual’s soccer skills while incorporating a positive Christian influence. Our vision is to encourage young Christian athletes in three ways – their spiritual walk, their athletic development, and their Christlike character.
Ed and Sally Pinon will head up the camp this summer. Ed Pinon has coached varsity girls and boys and club soccer for 25 years and holds a USSF national “B” coaching license. He played professional soccer for seven years. He is a Bible and physical education teacher at NRCA. Sally Pinon is a former Division 1 collegiate athlete. She coached middle school girls and boys soccer at North Raleigh Christian Academy for 26 years.
Our coaching staff consists of experienced coaches and high school and college players. All our staff receive training materials and support, which ensures consistency, a positive environment, and athletic development.

Football
Summer football camp at NRCA is designed to provide the campers with skill development in the passing game. We work with campers on proper techniques in passing, receiving, and defending the pass. We do not block or tackle in this camp, but there are elements of camp that can be physical as it is part of the nature of the game itself.
Players should bring sneakers, cleats, and clothing that will keep them cool since the summer heat and humidity are strong. Sneakers are necessary in the event we need to move indoors. Campers need to hydrate and eat well that week too. We encourage parents to send a water bottle and maybe even a snack with their athletes. We play for the duration of each day and try to incorporate elements of competition throughout. The format is either 5 on 5 flag/touch rules or 7v7 rules, depending on the number of campers engaged in a game. We also drill each day to introduce/reinforce techniques that will be useful in the games that day and when the boys transition to 11-man football.

College Essay Camp
At College Essay Camp, we help students brainstorm their story, find their voice, and write their Common App essay in one short week of morning workshops.
The first four days of camp, we will walk through the entire writing process, covering topic selection, story organization, drafting in the student’s own voice, and revising for maximum clarity and impact. We’ll talk about AI—if and when it’s a good idea to use it—based on current admissions expectations. Group instruction on effective essay strategies combined with one-on-one feedback on individual essays will give your student the information and coaching they need to write their best.
Although most colleges do not open their applications until later in the summer, the final day focuses on how to approach supplemental and scholarship essay prompts using the personal narrative skills students developed earlier in the week. When access opens, students will be equipped to write effectively.
This camp is open to rising juniors and seniors. To ensure each student receives meaningful feedback, enrollment numbers are limited. Early enrollment is encouraged.
