Elementary Chapel
At NRCA, we envision our weekly Elementary Chapel gatherings as meaningful opportunities for students to worship through song, hear updates on global and local mission efforts, and learn from faithful local pastors. More than an event, Chapel is designed to spark ongoing conversations—continuing in the classroom with teachers and among peers.

We also believe that parents are the primary spiritual influencers in their children's lives. That’s why we’re committed to partnering with you by providing thoughtful “Chapel Conversation” questions to help you engage with your child at home. These prompts are designed to open space for reflection, dialogue, and spiritual growth as a family.

In Colossians 2:7, Paul writes: “Let your roots grow down into Him, and let your lives be built on Him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.”

Our hope is that these conversations will help cultivate deep roots in God’s truth and strengthen your child’s faith—leading to lives marked by gratitude and purpose. May these moments draw you and your student closer to each other and to the heart of Christ
Rooted Rhythms Chapel Questions

This year, our schoolwide theme will center on the word worthy, ultimately focusing on the worthiness of Christ and what it looks like to live a life in obedience to Him. There are many things surrounding us that the world wants to convince us are worthy of our affections, pursuit, time, and effort. There is a continual war being waged in the battleground of our minds to convince us that we should pursue our own wisdom or truth that “feels right” to us. Yet, we read the letter from Paul to the church in Colossae as he encourages them with these words:
And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy... (Colossians 1:9-11)
Each of us will ultimately deem something as being worthy of our hope and obedience. Our prayer for our students and school community this year is that we would root our hope in the truth of who Christ is and live in a manner worthy of the One who is truly worthy of all our obedience—Jesus.
As we walk through Elementary Chapels this year, we will continue to dive deeper into our understanding of the worthiness of Christ by breaking our Elementary Chapel messages into two-week series that encompass an aspect of Christ’s worthiness and how our understanding of this quality of Jesus should impact our lives. For example, in our first series, the breakdown will look as follows:
“Because Christ is worthy as Creator, I know my worth is in Him.”
In our first week of the series, we will spend time learning more about Christ’s worthiness as Creator and what it means to be made in the image of our Creator. In the second week, we will follow up that conversation by learning more about how this truth brings us to finding our ultimate worth in Jesus.
Our heart’s desire is that our elementary students not simply meet each week; but that our time in Chapel would foster in them a love of worship, learning about their Savior and seeking ways to live in obedience to how He has called us to live. In the link below, you will also find a document that consists of a few questions to go along with each week. These questions are specifically designed for you as parents to have an opportunity to engage your students in conversations surrounding what they are learning in Chapel.
