Character Traits

Parents are provided supportive suggestions to be used as a springboard in instructing and explaining each monthly character trait to their child. Children are greatly influenced by those around them, and parents have the potential of wielding more of that influence than anyone else. NRCA teachers partner with the parents to nurture in our children positive character traits demonstrated by Jesus Christ. This emphasis gives us the opportunity to explore ways to live out Christian character, while acknowledging that we can’t do it without Christ. Our goal is to help our student body discover their need for Christ and His power in their everyday lives.  Excluding God from the teaching of character can overemphasize “being good” which becomes a human effort and as such is doomed to fail.  If the focus is on “my behavior” then the focus is on “me” rather than God. Human efforts toward moral "perfection" will always fail. A personal relationship with and reliance on Jesus Christ will always succeed!
