Dear NRCA Family, Friends, and Supporters,
I cannot put into words the incredible gratitude that I have for the efforts of so many. The 2016 Golf and Tennis Classic was an amazing success due to our co-sponsors, golfers, corporate teams, tennis players, hole sponsors, auction gift donations, vendors, staff, and volunteers. For the third year in a row, we exceeded $100,000. For this, we praise the Lord! What a difference this will make for our students in their Kingdom education!
THANK YOU CO-SPONSORS!
Let me express my appreciation first to our Co-Sponsors of the event, Joe and Melissa Weider with AIG and Randy and Pam Macon with Wake Orthodontics. This is the second year that they have graciously co-sponsored our Golf and Tennis Classic. Thank you so much for your commitment to Kingdom education!
THANK YOU GOLFERS!
Second, let me share a big thank you to our golfers, all 72 of them. Congratulations to the Gross Score Winners with first place going to Philip Chauncey, John Aaron Treece, Ryan Nagy, and Austin Nagy with a gross score of 51; second place going to Channing Hensley, Rachel Weyne, Zach Learned, and Josh Lendach (52); and third place going to Daniel Cox, Bruce Battle, Jackson Battle, and John Finster (55).
Congratulations to the Net Score Winners with first place going to Brent Robling, Ed Pinon, Scott Young, and Ken Pike with a score of 40; second place going to Randy Bridges, Eddie Rogosich, Joe Weider, and Mitch Evans (42); and third place going to Jim Allen, John Paul Goodwin, Drew Forshey, and Ben Cochran (44). What a wonderful time we all had with all the 1-18 hole awards, hole-in-one contests, and the Dixon Challenges. Thanks to Paul and Leslie Miller for the gift card drawings.
THANK YOU TENNIS PLAYERS!
What a fun time our 18 ladies had at the Tennis Classic. Let me express my appreciation to Laurie Geer for setting up the tennis event and providing Dennis Bartlett, Northridge Tennis Pro to direct the round-robin play in her absence due to her surgery. Congratulations to our Tournament Winners Marti May, Team Gold (3.5-4.0) and Stephanie Shotwell, Team Blue (2.5-3.0) for winning their respective levels. Patience Teaney, an NRCA grandparent (mother of Meredith Huffman), was voted Most Fun Player. Sheila Warner was Best Fundraiser. We hope to have a full slate of 24 players next year. Please put May 1, 2017 on your calendars and plan to play.
THANK YOU HOLE SPONSORS!
For all our Hole Sponsors, we could not do the event without you. The list of our sponsors is attached. Please know that every golfer and tennis player received your promotional information and gifts in their golf and tennis bags. We posted your business signs on the tee boxes of the golf course. Your signs lined the exit of our school for the rest of the week. Finally, you will be listed in our State of the School Address publication in the fall. We also included you in this mailing. Again, thank you for your support!
THANK YOU TO NRCA FAMILY AND FRIENDS FOR THE AUCTION GIFTS!
This was our best year with the auction generating more than $12,000. We place a Hole Sponsor sign to honor your donation. A special thank you to Chesson and Amanda Hadley for the Trip to St. Maarten that generated $4,000. What a fun time having Mark Roberts serve as the auctioneer. Many thanks to Tim Michael, owner of Capital Ford, for providing his services! These donors are recognized in the mailing and will also be recognized in our State of the School Address publication in the fall.
THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO GAVE TO EVENT NEEDS!
Let me say thank you to Tom Vande Guchte with Storr Office for sponsoring the dinner at the Hasentree Country Club. This is the third year Mary and Tom, NRCA alumni parents, have provided the dinner. Thank you Van Eure, owner of Angus Barn, for the Ribs on the Green that the golfers and tennis players enjoyed throughout the day. It has become one of the most enjoyable experiences of the event. Thank you Chris Latta, Chick-Fil-A Capital, for sponsoring the lunch for the golf and tennis players and Donna Downs, owner of Not Just Icing, for providing the delicious cupcakes for the dessert. Let me express my thanks to Monica Collins, owner of Perfectly Personalized Monograms, for the tennis gift bags.
THANKS TO OUR HONORARY CHAIRS ADAM AND BROOKE YOUNG!
What a joy it was to have Adam and Brooke Young, both NRCA alumni, serve as our Honorary Chairs. Adam is an officer with the Raleigh Police Department and Brooke is the Head Varsity Cheerleading Coach of our National Champion Lady Knights. Mallory, our first NRCA second-generation student is a sixth grader.
THANKS TO OUR EVENT PLANNING TEAM AND VOLUNTEERS!
No event is possible without a great team in place. Let me thank Karen Blom, my Executive Assistant, Tonya Hayward, our Administrative Assistant to the Development Team, Nita Lykins, our Parent and Alumni Director, and Richard Corey, our Business Manager. We also appreciate Debbie Monahan, College Counseling Director, our Boosterthon friends, and all the volunteers who participated at the Hole-In-One Contests. Lastly, we appreciate Phil Leddy and his staff at Hasentree Golf Club and Megan Coomes at Hasentree Tennis Club for being perfect hosts.
To God be the Glory as we conclude our “Leaving A Legacy” 20th NRCA Anniversary!
The God-Story Journey continues!
Yours for Kingdom education,
NRCA Founder and Superintendent
