Costa Rica 2008

Monday, June 16

Monday was an emotional and physically draining day. We began by making sandwiches and took them into a very very poor village. A village so poor that some of the workers told us that children have to take turns to eat. They don't take turns in bites or seconds, they take turns with the days that they eat. Some of them go two days between meals. We felt blessed that the Lord brought us to them so that we may be a blessing to them. Afterwards, we returned to the Abraham project where we worked with the daycare and orphan children. We also went back to our hard work of pulling out nails and preparing wood so that they can continue their building projects. It's so cool to see how these people use everything they have... even down to recycled wood. I think we'll all be coming back with a new appreciation of what we have and how much we have been blessed. Tomorrow we're off to La Fortuna, where we'll have a day of rest. We're excited to have some down time with the team and do some de-briefing and additional team building before we head back to the U.S. Thanks so much for your prayers. We have felt every single one!
