Pops Concert

Pops 2008 burst onto the stage of the NRCA Fine Arts Center May 3rd and gave the audience an amazing
night of song and dance as the high school Concert Choir and Honors Ensemble celebrated
a year of great music, great friendships, and a great God who has gifted us to sing. Our seniors were the
night's featured soloists. Songs such as "Ease on Down the Road", Mr. Mister's "Kyrie",
"Bless the Broken Road", and Wicked's "Defying Gravity" carried out the theme of Down that Road.
Top choir awards were Servant's Heart Award - Lauren Corey, Most Improved - Josh Peterson,
Song of David Award - John Bowyer, and our newest award which includes a $250 scholarship
and is in honor of Rebecca Simpson, the Psalmist Award - John Bowyer.

Meditation Verses: Hebrews 4:11-13
An overview of the Book of Hebrews: Christ is better!

Questions:
What do you treasure in your life and how is this revealed
in the fruit it is bearing for you?

What does this say about the condition of our hearts?

Why does the Cross of Christ seem to be the last option
for so many?

Beanie Baby Project
The story goes...there was a convoy traveling in Iraq and a small girl was sitting in the road
and would not move. The soldiers stopped and carefully got out of their vehicles and
approached the
child. She had a Beanie Baby and would not say a word but continuously
pointed to the side of the road. As the soldiers looked carefully, they discovered a bomb
that was meant for them to drive over. Some soldier had given her a Beanie Baby and
she new they must be okay folks. Think of the lives that small gesture saved. God does
use the little things in our world to confuse and to conquer. Mrs. Reavis is collecting
new or gently used Beanie Babies
. There are boxes outside rooms A207, B213 and in the lobby.
