Students of NRCA must attend at least one missions trip during their high school years (grades 9-12) as
a high school graduation requirement beginning with the Class of 2010. A missions trip is defined as an
“out of your local community” trip where the student is dedicated to service without pay for a minimum
of 3 days, 8 hours or more per day, excluding travel. These trips can be construction for a non-profit
organization, help in a ministry, assisting a missionary, etc. It can be a church group, missions agency,
para-church ministry, or school. All missions trips must be pre-approved by the Student Life Director to
apply for this graduation requirement. For students with extenuating circumstances like long-term
illness where they cannot travel, multiple day missions projects can be set up with organizations like
House of Hope, Raleigh Rescue Mission, etc. These events will also require prior approval by the
Student Life Director.
