Academics and Curriculum
NRCA is a college-preparatory, board operated, interdenominational Christian school. We are state-approved and are accredited by SACS (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools), ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International), and CITA (Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation). The outstanding faculty and staff at NRCA are exceptional both professionally and personally. In addition, our approach to curriculum is particularly excellent. |
In the elementary, we use the A Beka curriculum, Shurley Grammar, A Reason for Science, ACSI Bible, ACSI Spelling, and additional supplements. Electives offered on the elementary level are computer, Spanish, art, physical education, choral music, band, and library. Elementary students average 2-4 years above the national average on the Stanford 10. A system of academic field trips for elementary through 12th grade accents the classroom experience. |
Middle and High School use a combination of A Beka, Bob Jones University Press, Prentice-Hall, Scott Foresman, and other texts. Middle and High School Bible curriculum is currently an assortment of Bob Jones University Press, Abeka, Summit Ministries, ACSI, and current authors such as James Dobson and Henry Blackaby. The 7th and 8th grade are required to take Latin I and II. In addition to our three track adacemic system of General, College-Preparatory, and Honors tracks for high school students, we offer Advanced Placement classes for college credit. We currently offer Advanced Placement classes in the following areas: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, Calculus, European History, American History, Psychology, 11th Grade English, and 12th Grade English. Honors classes are available in College Math (Functions, Statistics and Trigonometry), Spanish III, Advanced Math, Economics, Junior English, and Senior English. |
Excellent computer and science labs help prepare our students academically. Middle school students score 3 to 4 years above the National Average on the SAT battery. Our senior classes have averaged over 1150 on the SAT and have won scholarships in the thousands of dollars. Seniors have been accepted to the top universities in the country. We are also members of the National Honor Society and the National Junior Honor Society. |
