You may track your request online, and you will also receive an email notification when we approve your transcript request, and again when your transcript is mailed (or delivered electronically, based on the delivery preference of the destination that you selected).


12th Annual FAFSA Day
CFNC and the State Employees' Credit Union is sponsoring the 12th Annual FAFSA Day on Saturday, February 18, 2012. This is a free service to assist families in completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) Form. Students will not receive federal aid for college unless they have completed the FAFSA Form. Go to CFNC.org/fafsaday for a listing of times and locations.

ACT Dates and Registration
NRCA requires all Seniors to take the ACT and receive a minimum score of 16 to graduate. We do not require the writing portion of the ACT. However, most colleges will not accept ACT scores without the writing portion.

Cappex Scholarship Opportunity

ECU Maynard Scholarship
ECU is still accepting applications for the ECU Maynard Scholarship. The ECU Maynard Scholars Program is modeled after the NC Teaching Fellows program and provides a leadership component and $20,000 over four years for pre-service educators living in one of the 50 identified counties. We are encouraging all interested Seniors to apply as soon as possible. The posted deadline is Friday, January 27, but we will accept applications through the end of next week.

RALEIGH MAYOR’S COMMITTEE FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES 2012 SCHOLARSHIP
The Raleigh Mayor’s Committee for Persons with Disabilities will award two $1000 scholarships to students with documented disabilities. You must be a senior and a resident of the city of Raleigh to apply. Click here for the application. The deadline for this application is May 31, 2012.

Hugh Morson Memorial Scholarship
If you are a Senior and a resident of the City of Raleigh, you may apply to the Hugh Morson Memorial Scholarship. Deadline for applications is March 5, 2012. Apply online at www.csascholars.org.

Bridgewater College
Bridgewater College in Bridgewater, VA is offering a North Carolina resident scholarship in addition to its merit scholarship program. Contact Julie Huffman, Admissions Counselor at Bridgewater, at jhuffman@bridgewater.edu for more information. For those interested in an equestrian riding program, Bridgewater has an outstanding program and facilities.

Davidson College Bryan Scholars Program
If you are a senior who is a participant in one of the following sports, with an outstanding academic record, you may be eligible for the Davidson College Bryan Scholarship (valued at $30,000 annually). Please see Mrs. Monahan for more information.

Emory Pre-College Summer Program
Open to rising Juniors and Seniors. The six week course which gives college credit is July 1 - August 11, 2012. Non-credit courses are offered July 1-14, July 15-29, and July 29-August 11, 2012. Apply online at www.precollege.emory.edu.

Martha Guy Summer Institute at Appalachian State University is a 3-week summer adventure into the world of leadership and business for current high school juniors. Applications will be available in late Winter here.

Summer Ventures in Science and Mathematics
Summer Ventures in Science and Mathematics is a cost-free, state-funded program for academically high achieving rising junior and senior students who have demonstrated interest in career fields in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics. The program is a residential 4-week intensive study from June 17- August 4, 2012 at these four campuses: Appalachian State University, East Carolina University, North Carolina Central University, and University of North Carolina - Charlotte. Washington University in St. Louis
Washington University in St. Louis is offering two programs this summer for students to attend the summer after their sophomore or junior year.
  • The Summer Scholars Program offers a 5 week session that provides two college credits transferable to most accredited universities.
  • The Summer Institute offers a 3 week program in one of the following areas (noncredit): Writing, Pre-Medical, Photojournalism.
